Advantages of Americans:America was not necessarily picked or hypothesized to have a victory at this battle. America had many flaws but also a few advantages during the Battle of Midway. For example, America's Naval fleets were very well equipped and armored. They also had very well trained Seamen. Also the American's intercepte a Japanese Telegram and once they decoded it they realized that Japan was planning to attack the Pacific American Fleet.
Disadvantages of the Americans:America did have a disadvantages to the Japanese. The Japanese dominated in the air because they had so many more aircrafts then the American's. Most of their casualties and losses of boats and aircraftscame from enmy planes.
Strategies Used by the American's:
Once the American's decoded the Japanese telegram the
American's then just prepare for the worst. They had an advantage because they knew it was coming and there was no element of surprise no longer. |
Advantages of the Japanese:The Japanese had a significant air advantage. this means that they had more equipped aircraft. They outnumbered the Americans in aircraft. Even though they ended up loosing a significant amount of their aircraft they dominated in the air.
Japan had good thoughts and hopes that the Battle of Midway would go as planned. But they had terrible tactics. they did not really think out their plans as best as they should have. They also underestimated the American's and their battle strategies and firepower. They did not think the American's would be as prepared to fight as they were. Also their element of surprise was taken away when the American's decoded their codes and realized there was an attack coming.
Strategies Used by the Japanese: Japanese used basically only one main strategy and that was to draw American ships into battle so Japanese forces would be able to destroy them. They also tried to use the element of surprise. But that was soon ruined because American ships intercepted codes and decoded them and realized that Japan was planning to attack. |
